Restylane
Restylane is the name for a particular formulation that consists of hyaluronic acid that is not sourced from animals and used commonly to augment the lips. In America, Restylane is currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration for injection to the facial subdermal tissues.
Restylane is used for cosmetic purposes and injected in places such as under wrinkles, aging lines, melomental folds, nasolabial folds or in crow's feet and wrinkles on the forehead. Restylane is also used to fill age-related orbital troughs found around and under the eyes as well as facial hollows.
Restylane's effects extend up to six months. One could easily recover from a Restylane injection within three days as bruising and swelling subsides. There are certain practitioners who may ask their patients to come back two weeks after being treated in order to re-assess the area and check if a top-up is needed.
In the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, Tom van Eijk - a Dutch doctor - has specified a novel way to utilize Restylane via his fern injection pattern technique the aim of which is to restore elasticity of the skin than fill the wrinkles underneath.
The effect of Restylane is to immediately soften telltale signs of aging as well as improve anyone's looks by enhancing a person's natural features. Basically, Restylane restores the volume of the skin, improves its elasticity and smoothes imperfections and niggling lines. Restylane's effects last long, they are however not permanent. But what Restylane does is that it helps you stay in total control of how you look.
Restylane is a gel that is crystal-clear and biotechnologically produced using hyaluronic water and acid that doesn't come from animals. The acid is a substance that is friendly to the body's tissue and resembles closely the naturally occurring acid in the body.
Since Restylane helps replenish the body's natural supply of hyaluronic, it therefore plumps up and revitalizes skin automatically lessening visible facial lines giving the face a much softer look.
Areas commonly treated by restylane include the lips, the nose and mouth angle, chin and cheeks, back of the hands and between eyebrows.
Duration of Restylane's effects depend on a lot of factors namely one's lifestyle, type of skin, demand of the patient and the technique used by the practitioner to inject Restylane.
Since 1996, six million Restylane treatments were carried out. Any reactions related to Restylane spontaneously subsides a mere day or two after the injection.
